I Joined Independence Caucus--Will You?

A message to all from the Independence Caucus

Greetings
In our Article II video, we showed you how Congress stuffed 9,000+ un-authorized earmarks into the 2008 budget and had Congress vote on it with less than 48 hours to review it...which meant each Congressman had only 18.8 seconds to review and approve each pork spending item.

On 12/10/09, Congress did it again, this time stuffing 5,000 earmarks into the 2011 budget and giving Congress less than 24 hours to review it...which comes out to only 17.2 seconds of review time for each earmark.

No Republican Incumbent voted for the budget, but MOST of them stuffed in earmarks...knowing that the Dems would pass the budget. They will now head home and trumpet how they "voted against the budget" but not how they stuffed in earmarks prior to the vote.

EXCEPT for Jason Chaffetz, who was on Neil Cavuto's show yesterday...Jason Chaffetz, who taught I-Caucus how to win elections without relying on money or begging for fair media coverage.

Take a look at Jason's 3 minute interview on Cavuto's show, where Cavuto pointed out that they verified that Chaffetz asked for no pork and was a man of his word: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf5nrgnjoRY&feature=channel.

THEN check out the last 45 seconds of Cavuto's show where he asks America to think about what Chaffetz is doing and what it would be like if we had 434 more Congressmen like him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0T77Yui5ZK4&feature=channel.

I would submit that this might be a great time to send these links along to your friends, neighbors, and associates...and let them know you joined I-caucus specifically to find, vet, endorse, and elect 434 more Congressman just like Chaffetz...and invite them to join you here to lend a hand.

Please join us at http://www.icaucus.ning.com.

Thank you to ALL of you who have already stepped forward.

I Don't Know Tiger Woods...

The Publican's Prayer

I don't know Tiger Woods. And as a rule I avoid public comment on the private travails of others, even when their fame or notoriety inevitably makes them the subject of public attention and comment. For a long time, though, I have pondered the significance of the publican's prayer, the simple prayer Jesus recommends by contrast with the self-righteous conceit of the scrupulous Pharisee (Luke 18:9-14). As we come to know the dark passage of such an admired and popular public figure, the thoughts it inspires seem particularly timely and appropriate.

The Pharisee thanks God "that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican." He cites his strict observance of the law to justify his sense of righteousness. Yet Christ makes clear that it is not the Pharisee but the publican, who "would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God be thou merciful to me a sinner" who "went down to his house justified."

The Scriptures tell us that Christ directed this account particularly at those who "trusted in themselves that they were righteous" and were so preoccupied by that conceit that they held the rest of humankind in contempt because of it. Yet on close observance of the text, we see that their attitude toward other people is not the only thing it affects. The publican's certainty of sinfulness makes him feel more fully the awesomeness of the presence of God. It weighs so heavily upon his brow that he cannot lift his head. As the Pharisee's confident self-righteousness makes him feel distant from other men, it also cuts him off from the salutary burden that signifies the near presence of God, the fear that marks and constitutes the birth of wisdom.

Perhaps the essence of this wisdom was conveyed by Christ at another time, when "a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? None is good save one, that is, God" (Luke 18:18-19). All goodness depends entirely on the existence and presence of God. There is therefore no self-sufficient righteousness in the law, or in the will or actions of any human beings. As we cannot be good except by way of God's presence, our good actions belong rather to God than to us. So we are accounted righteous, as the Apostle Paul repeatedly reminds us "Even as Abraham believed [i.e., trusted in, relied on] God and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness" (Galatians 3:6). Of course, Abraham's belief was more than a state of mind. It was a consistent pattern of actions that were the consequence or fruit of that state of mind.

Sacrificing For America Has Been Hijacked

Sacrificing for America Has Been Hijacked
By Michael Spence

There used to be a time when sacrificing for the greater good was considered an honorable thing. There also used to be a time when you could walk down the street and every house had an American flag displayed. What happened to those times? Sacrificing for America was what you did naturally, just like sticking up for your siblings against neighborhood bullies. Sacrificing for America was never a question, now it is. Why? It's in question now because you don't know if you want to defend the direction America is heading. No one thought things would get as skewed as they are. Society is now full of spoiled brats young and old that wouldn't know sacrifice if it slapped them in the face. Sacrificing for America now is pledging allegiance to Barack Obama and furthering the Marxist cause he has planned for this country. It's not mom and apple pie anymore. It's hookers and blow. It's not Norman Rockwell and John Wayne anymore. It's Larry Flynt and Sean Penn. Our society the way it is headed is not worth sacrificing for. A whole lot more needs to be done to correct the path we are on or we will end up a footnote in history.

Please do not take this wrong. I am not saying America is not worth fighting for. I am bound by my own creed to defend America. I defend the America of George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Ronald Reagan. I defend the America that is spelled out in the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution. Millions of Americans sacrificed their time, money and sometimes a lot more this past year protesting the evil that grips our country right now. If you are reading this you are sacrificing your time trying to educate yourself or to get a new or different perspective to combat the leftists you encounter. The people that put their hand over their heart when they hear the Star Spangled Banner are the ones that understand what is going to happen to America if we let it go down without a fight. Those people are sacrificing for all of us. It's not going to come to violence I hope, and we can assure that it doesn't by fighting back now and stopping the leftist democrats.

The key is to educate people and point out that the democrat party of 2009 is not the democrat party of 1960. The democrat leadership now wants to rule, not serve the country, and take us to a place devoid of the freedoms we have enjoyed for 233 years. These are the facts that must be taught to those that do not already know. Our time and money is what we will have to sacrifice which is a lot better than sacrificing blood. The sacrifices that President Obama and Vice President Biden have in mind are paying more taxes so they can seize more of your liberties. They would love it also if you perpetuated the removal of your freedoms by working for criminal fronts like ACORN and the SEIU to commit voter fraud to try and rig elections and also to get more people dependent on government entitlements. The slavery of the 21st century.

When the leftists talk about sacrificing for America, they mean help to destroy what we have built over the past 233 years and transform it into a depreciated quagmire run by guess who? That's right, leftist democrats. To the rank and file leftist its the idea of leftist utopia and the dream of peace and harmony, but to the leadership it is the dream of unmitigated rule. We all know the leftist utopia is not possible and leftist rule is not tolerable. Not on my watch is that going to happen. Not without a fight from me. America is the best country in the world because of the sacrifices of our ancestors, of blood, sweat and tears. To let it crumble is a slap in the face to anyone that died or lost the quality of their lives because they gave for America. Everyone in this country should go to Washington D.C. at least once in their lives. Not because of the White House or the Capitol Building or the Smithsonian etc, you should go to see the founding documents in the National Archives and then take a trip across the Potomac River to Arlington, Virginia and see the thousands that died keeping those documents salient. The people at Arlington sacrificed for America. They sacrificed everything they had or would ever have for America. Our honor would be gone if we allowed their efforts to be in vain.

When I talk to people about this subject I usually get a strange look. Most people are not going to willingly sacrifice their lives for a concept or a flag, but Americans sacrifice for America not because of a flag but because of what America stands for. America stands for your family and God and the wonderful freedoms we have. America stands for victory in everything we put our minds to, and the best that the world has to offer. America stands for the opportunities that this country provides because we are a free people with a free market economy. You sacrifice and fight to preserve the right to drive your car when you want, or eat what you want and all the little things that we all have taken for granted for years. I am willing to sacrifice for America, but not for Obama's vision. Fighting Obama's vision, is sacrificing for America for me. He cannot fool all of us and we are the majority and we will be in the "super" majority when we complete the monumental task of educating everyone in America to what is going on. I will cherish that day in November of 2010 and again in 2012 when we will all be able to see the fruits of our labor and sacrifice. It is the least we could do for the ones that have sacrificed before us and the ones that are going to sacrifice after us.

Dr. Alan Keyes--The Enemy of my Enemy is...

THOUGHTLET--The Enemy of my Enemy is ?
by Dr. Alan Keyes

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I've never been sure the old maxim made much sense. It gives your enemies rather too much control over the identification of your friends. What's more, it allows people who really aren't your friends to identify themselves as such just by opposing your enemies. Doesn't that make it easier for your enemies to plant agents in your midst with no more effort than it takes to stage a phony brawl?

Because they live in such a hostile media environment, conservatives are all too willing to embrace any media voice that seems to take on their left wing opponents. But this means that at critical moments (particularly when it comes to personnel choices) they will be susceptible to information provided by people who have only been fighting with their enemies in order to get into a better position to do in the people whose sincerity, ability and leadership offer conservatives the greatest promise of success.

In this regard I have observed that the most important information conservatives can get from Rupert Murdoch's Fox News Channel is silence: the things and people Fox positively ignores. You can be sure someone you know to be conservative is standing firm for what's right when you can't remember the last time you saw or heard anything positive about them on Fox News. Think of all the reporting they've done on the issue of Obama's eligibility for the Presidency.

Listen to the silence.

Better yet, learn from it.

ARE YOU ANGRY YET?

ARE YOU ANGRY YET?

By Lynn Stuter
November 10, 2009
NewsWithViews.com

Tomorrow is Veterans Day, commemorating our men and women who fought (and died) to keep this country free under the Constitution and Bill of Rights established by our Founding Fathers.

On November 4, 2008, Barack Hussein Obama was elected to the office of president of the United States. The evidence grows that Obama is not an American citizen, was not eligible to the office he holds, should never have been allowed on the ballot in any of the 50 states.

1. Not one of the Senators of Representatives in Congress has actually seen Obama's birth certificate. They have seen pictures of a document posted on the internet, but they have not seen the actual birth certificate.

2. Hawaii claims to hold a birth certificate for Obama but that does not mean Obama was born in Hawaii. At the time Obama contends he was born (1961), Hawaii (Act 96, Session Laws of 1911, Special Session of 1909 and the Organic Act) allowed for the birth registration, in Hawaii, of foreign-born children. Until the actual birth certificate is produced and examined; where Obama was actually born is unknown and unproven.

3. No Hawaiian hospital is willing to own up to Obama being born there. Meanwhile, Obama and his half-sister have claimed he was born at two different hospitals. When Obama finally decided he was born at one particular hospital, internet sites set about to "correct" their stories to reflect his unproven claims, including the left-wing website, Snopes.com.

4. On page 26 of his book, Dreams from my Father (2004, paperback edition), Obama states he found his birth certificate in with other documents in his grandparents home. If Obama was actually born in Hawaii, such undermines the need for Hawaii to produce a laser printed document only produced after 2001—the Certification of Live Birth that has appeared in pictures on the internet, that Hawaii refuses to authenticate, and that forensic experts have dubbed a forgery.

5. Obama has claimed dual citizenship at birth, American by his mother, Kenyan by his father (actually, this would be British as Kenya was a British colony at that time). Historically, "natural-born" requires two American parents. This makes Obama ineligible under Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution, irrespective of the birth certificate issue. Whether a dual citizen at birth, indications are that Obama because an Indonesian citizen and remains so today.

6. African newspapers have consistently claimed that Obama is "Kenyan-born". One such article that recently surfaced is dated 2004. This means he did not have dual citizenship at birth was a British subject at birth as his mother was not of the age required to confer her citizenship to Obama.

7. Obama's paternal step-grandmother, Sarah, also claims he was born in Kenya and she was present at his birth.

8. Obama was listed, in the Soetoro/Dunham divorce papers, as dependent on Lolo Soetoro for the purposes of education. As Obama was over the age of 18 at the time, he could only be considered the legal child of Lolo Soetoro if he was legally adopted by Soetoro. Evidence points to him being adopted by Lolo Soetoro, to becoming (ca 1966) an Indonesian citizen. No evidence exists that he was ever an American or that he reclaimed American citizenship. The terminology used in the divorce papers may have been to facilitate Obama in receiving foreign student aid to attend college in the United States.

9. Indications are that Nancy Pelosi and other Democrat National Committee personnel knew Barack Hussein Obama was not eligible to the office of president; that the nomination of a non-American as the Democrat candidate was deliberate.

Since his usurping of the office of president, Obama has worked tirelessly to dismantle what remains of the once great nation, the United States of America. He has:

1. plunged this nation $1.4 trillion dollars further in debt, more than any president in history;
2. pushed every piece of Marxist legislation to come forth from the House and Senate;
3. taken over private companies in violation of the United States Constitution;
4. used the public coffers to bail out his Wall Street benefactors;
5. used his public office to promote and assist radical left-wing organizations like the Black Panthers, ACORN, and Moveon.org;
6. surrounded himself with czars who have a known Marxist agenda;
7. traveled the world denigrating America and the American people;
8. bowed in fealty to his Muslim brothers;
9. partied hearty in the White House at taxpayer expense while Americans lost their jobs;
10. insulted America's allies at every opportunity while affiliating himself with the leaders of Marxist regimes.

More recently, one of Obama's Muslim brothers shot and killed at least 13 people, wounded at least 31 at Ft Hood in Texas. While former President George Bush and his wife, Laura, met with families, the wounded, and mourners, Obama was in DC, twisting the arms of members of the U.S. House of Representatives to pass his Marxist healthcare reform bill (H.R. 3962). After all, if he can't kill them with bullets, what better way to kill them than by withholding (rationing) health care?

In commemorating the men and women who have died for our country, for the cause of freedom, Public Television broadcast a show Sunday night on the vast cemeteries that sprinkle the European landscape where Americans fought and thousands died in World War II. They fought for their country and for those who came after them, their progeny.

And now we stand at the precipice of the totalitarian state with a man occupying the White House, usurping the Oval Office, who isn't an American; who has, by his own actions and words, declared himself a Marxist.

The United States Congress, assembled, has refused to remove this usurper sitting illegitimately as our president.

The United States Supreme Court, and lower courts, have refused to address the growing body of evidence that Barack Hussein Obama is not our legitimate president; going so far as to make the ludicrous claim that they cannot overturn the vote of millions, in essence saying that popular vote (if it could even be claimed to be uncorrupted) is above the law.

The mainstream media of the United States has refused to expose this illegitimate president. Indications are that their actions are the result of threats and duress should they expose Obama for the fraud he is.

If those who are supposed to uphold our laws, according to their oath of office, refuse to do so, then they leave the American people no choice but to take matters into their own hands.

This past week we have seen three shootings occur in this country—in Florida, in Texas, and in Washington state. Each of these shootings was directed against a company or government entity seen as unjust. This is the direct result of the refusal of those entrusted to do so, to uphold the law; this is a direct result of the corruption that permeates our government and the companies now seen as partnered with it in the fascist state. When the rule of law breaks down, and it has, then anarchy reigns.

All the men and women who have died for this country, it would seem, from the War of Independence to present day, have died in vain.

Are you angry yet?

OBAMACARE ENDORSEMENTS: WHAT THE BRIBE WAS

OBAMACARE ENDORSEMENTS: WHAT THE BRIBE WAS
By Dick Morris And Eileen McGann
11.7.2009

Published on TheHill.com November 6, 2009

As the suicidal Democratic congressmen proceed to rubber-stamp the Obama healthcare reform despite the drubbing their party took in the ‘09 elections, the president trotted out the endorsements of the AMA and the AARP to stimulate support. But these — and the other endorsements — his package has received are all bought and paid for.

Here are the deals:
  • The American Medical Association (AMA) was facing a 21 percent cut in physicians’ reimbursements under the current law. Obama promised to kill the cut if they backed his bill. The cuts are the fruit of a law requiring annual 5-6 percent reductions in doctor reimbursements for treating Medicare patients. Bravely, each year Congress has rolled the cuts over, suspending them but not repealing them. So each year, the accumulated cuts threaten doctors. By now, they have risen to 21 percent. With this blackmail leverage, Obama compelled the AMA to support his bill…or else!
  • The AARP got a financial windfall in return for its support of the healthcare bill. Over the past decade, the AARP has morphed from an advocacy group to an insurance company (through its subsidiary company). It is one of the main suppliers of Medi-gap insurance, a high-cost, privately purchased coverage that picks up where Medicare leaves off. But President Bush-43 passed the Medicare Advantage program, which offered a subsidized, lower-cost alternative to Medi-gap. Under Medicare Advantage, the elderly get all the extra coverage they need plus coordinated, well-managed care, usually by the same physician. So more than 10 million seniors went with Medicare Advantage, cutting into AARP Medi-gap revenues.
Presto! Obama solved their problem. He eliminates subsidies for Medicare Advantage. The elderly will have to pay more for coverage under Medigap, but the AARP — which supposedly represents them — will make more money. (If this galls you, join the American Seniors Association, the alternative group; contact sbarton@americanseniors.org This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)
  • The drug industry backed ObamaCare and, in return, got a 10-year limit of $80 billion on cuts in prescription drug costs. (A drop in the bucket of their almost $3 trillion projected cost over the next decade.) They also got administration assurances that it will continue to bar lower-cost Canadian drugs from coming into the U.S. All it had to do was put its formidable advertising budget at the disposal of the administration.
  • Insurance companies got access to 40 million potential new customers. But when the Senate Finance Committee lowered the fine that would be imposed on those who don’t buy insurance from $3,500 to $1,500, the insurance companies jumped ship and now oppose the bill, albeit for the worst of motives.
The only industry that refused to knuckle under was the medical device makers. They stood for principle and wouldn’t go along with Obama’s blackmail. So the Senate Finance Committee retaliated by imposing a tax on medical devices such as automated wheelchairs, pacemakers, arterial stents, prosthetic limbs, artificial knees and hips and other necessary accoutrements of healthcare.

So these endorsements are not freely given, but bought and paid for by an administration that is intent on passing its program at any cost.

The Soda Pop Candidate

My favorite Iowa Independent has composed another great article. Since I know him to be a good, God-fearing man, I have no problem giving him all the extra exposure that I can muster. Go Tom Shaw!!!! Go Iowa!  This article was copied, with permission of the author, from the Iowa Defense Alliance website.

Guest Commentary: The Politics of Soda Pop Part Two
Posted on October 27, 2009 by Al Bregar

The Politics of Soda Pop, Part Two

By Tom Shaw

Independent Candidate for Iowa House District 8

“However (political parties) may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”

(George Washington, Farewell Address, Sept. 17, 1796)

I recently wrote an article in which I described the Republican Party’s abandonment of its core social values contained in its party platform in order to attract moderate voters. In short, I likened it to the disastrous results when Coca-Cola changed its recipe to “New Coke” in order to attract Pepsi drinkers. But the “politics of soda pop” doesn’t stop there.

Years ago I watched an interview with an executive from RC Cola on a television news magazine. He described the power and leverage that was held by both Pepsi and Coke in the soft drink market. His assertion was that although the two soda giants were in fierce competition with each other, they colluded together to make sure that no other soft drink company could successfully expand its market share. A clear example of this was provided when he told about his company not being able to purchase vending machines in order to sell its product. According to him, when RC Cola would order vending machines from a manufacturer, Pepsi and Coke would buy up the machines at a higher price in order to keep them from being used by RC Cola.

George Washington was clearly, and justifiably, concerned about the inevitable corruption which would prevail if political parties misused their power. His ominous prediction has clearly come to pass in recent years. Both major parties, Democratic and Republican, have gained such a stranglehold of power, for the sole sake of power, that they will collude together to make sure no other voice is heard. They, like Pepsi and Coke, do not want any outside competition and therefore will link hands together in order to stifle any challengers to their dominion. The two parties have become very adept at conditioning voters that they are the only game in town. Want proof? Just tell someone that you are going to vote for a candidate that is not a “D” or an “R”. You will be labeled as a nut and be told that you are just wasting your vote, for everyone knows we have a “two-party system.”

But the electorate is waking up and openly defying the parties. The ranks of independent voters are swelling and the parties are experiencing a mass exodus. “We the People” are starting to demand not only more choices in candidates, but candidates that truly represent their values. Our election system was never meant to result in “I voted for the lesser of two evils,” but rather that voters should have a range of options so that they can say “I voted for good today.”

As an RC Cola candidate, I know the challenges that I face in overcoming the party system. The parties have mutually designed the “straight ticket” voting process to purposely inhibit candidates like myself. The “straight ticket” argument is also used as leverage to force or coerce candidates to run on a Democratic or Republican ticket. I say it is time for the voters to shed their party shackles and vote based on their principles. And I end this with a reminder from Samuel Adams, “Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote ... that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.”

A Fed Up Republican Vents

Another stellar article from Tom Shaw in Iowa. Our nation needs 100s more just like him!

By Tom Shaw
Independent Candidate for Iowa House District 8
October 23rd, 2009

I received a very interesting copy of a letter today in the mail. It was written by a gentleman who lives outside of my district, and it was addressed to Senator Snowe. The author had written the Senator to voice his disapproval of her recent vote on the health care bill. And then, the topic turned to Republican politics here in Iowa. His letter reflects the growing anger and distrust of the Republican Party, and represents the attitude of an ever increasing number of the voters in my district.

I thought I’d share a couple of excerpts from his letter:

“In Iowa, we have had several Republicans like Tom Shaw quit the party and are going to be running as an Independent for various offices. Quite frankly, I don’t blame them and am thinking about doing the same myself next year. This especially after the way the party treated Joe Wilson and your recent vote. It is d**n sad when Independents are more than willing to stand up for a party platform than a member of that very party. Just Saturday the Iowa GOP called asking for money. He hung up on me when I started to tell him how upset I was. The party thinks it is more important to win an election than advance the platform. Well how did that work out for you with Jim Leach coming out for Obama? President Bush coming out for Arlen Spector? Or a leader in the Iowa GOP party stabbing Chris Reed in the back against Harkin? And just this week we didn’t hear a word from the Iowa GOP when the head of the local NAACP came out for Vander Plaats. Could it be that they were too busy kissing “raised the sales tax twice, went to court over budget tricks, put judges on the bench who gave us gay marriage” Terry Brandstad’s ring?

“You better get used to being in the minority because you will never get the base behind you again. The base, like me, live by principle, what do you do? And don’t give me the line about having to be in the majority to get anything done. You cannot even vote right in the minority so how can I trust you later?....”

It IS my business...

[Tom Shaw is an independent candidate running in the great state of Iowa for the Iowa state legislature.  I wish I was part of his district so that I could vote for such a strong candidate.]

October 9, 2009

Tom W. Shaw

I have a confession to make. Simply, I have been unworried, untroubled and unconcerned. I was unwilling to take the time to study the subject of life and unenthusiastic about preserving it. Abortion didn’t affect me, so, why should I invest any thought into the debate? Although I did not believe in abortion, I was disposed to allowing the mother to make her own decision … she would have to live with it. In short, it was none of my business.

A few years back, during the process of a sexual assault investigation, I was sent to get evidence at a Planned Parenthood clinic. The alleged victim in the case decided to have an abortion and I was to pick up the aborted fetus and take it to the crime lab for DNA analysis. And to the clinic I went, totally unprepared for what I was to encounter. I told an employee that I was there to retrieve a fetus. I was immediately told that it was not a fetus, rather, it was a “product of conception.” Moments later, I was handed a small, plastic bag. (Another confession: My stomach turned violently and I almost vomited.) I did not see a “product of conception” in that bag, I saw a murdered baby. It’s hard to relate the emotional turmoil that I subsequently went through. I can, and frequently do, deal with dead bodies. But I was totally repulsed by the fact that riding next to me in my patrol car, in a cooler, packed in ice, was an innocent victim who was robbed of the opportunity to live its life.

It is my business. No longer will I allow those who support abortion to dehumanize a baby by calling it a “product of conception.”

It is my business. No longer will I fail to uphold my duty to protect all innocent life.

It is my business. No longer will I violate my oath by not defending the God given right to life.

It is my business. No longer shall I be complacent.

THE NEW HOME OF CONSERVATISM!?

[I haven't done a shameless plug for America's Independent Party in a while, so I'm trying to catch up, lol. Seriously, I hope you will take a thoughtful look at AIP, and that you will find our principles to be the same as your principles.]

America’s Independent Party is

Our purpose? The same as the stated purpose of the U.S. Constitution: “To secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

That’s why we’re pro-life and pro-liberty, and will always unswervingly support a strong and secure America.

Along with the signers of the Declaration of Independence, we believe in the self-evident truth that all men are created equal, that our unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness come from our Creator, and that just government can only exist by the consent of the governed.

We call these “America’s Principles.”

We are recruiting, training and equipping a new generation of leaders – patriotic men and women who will courageously act to implement those principles.

History proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt: AMERICA’S PRINCIPLES WORK when the people put them into practice.

America’s Independent Party is committed to restoring government of, by and for the people – not just in words, but by DEDICATED, ORGANIZED, UNITED ACTION.

America’s Independent Party endorses candidates based on principle, not party affiliation. As principled Independents, we intend to change America’s political culture by example.

Like President Ronald Reagan, we firmly support a policy of Peace through Strength.

We support our troops and our veterans. We demand secure borders and a strict adherence to the rule of law when it comes to immigration policy.

We will always remember 9-11-2001, when America was attacked, the towers fell, and America’s heroes, average citizens, gave their lives to save others.

We are completely committed to free enterprise and economic liberty, and have a practical plan to restore economic prosperity, for the sake of our posterity.

Our nation’s political leaders have failed, because they have abandoned America’s Principles. A DEDICATED, ORGANIZED, UNITED conservative movement, made up of, and led by, average citizens, is the only hope that exists for saving America from the results of those failures.

If you believe as we do, please join with us today:

Adversity?

[This was a part of my Pastor's weekly Wednesday email.  I thought is was good enough to be a short blog post.  I hope everyone who reads this post draws encouragement enough to keep going.  I certainly found it to be a Blessing.]

I think about all the adversity that so many seem to be going through, and know that it is not easy.  I came across this quote by Augustine of Hippo:  "In all trouble you should seek God. You should not set Him over against your troubles, but within them. God can only relieve your troubles if you in your anxiety cling to Him. Trouble should not really be thought of as this thing or that in particular, for our whole life on earth involves trouble; and through the troubles of our earthly pilgrimage we find God."

Wishing you God's best,

Remember Them On Veterans' Day

My good friend, Emery McClendon, is a ham radio operator, and avid supporter of our veterans and military troops everywhere. He asked that I post this information far and wide, so I'm doing all I can to get the word out. I'm not a ham radio operator, but I'm with Emery--lets ham it up for Veterans' Day, November 11!

REMEMBER THEM ON VETERANS' DAY
By Emery McClendon

Veterans Day is approaching. Our Troops, and Veterans deserve our support for their sacrifice to protect our freedom, and the Constitution of this great nation. They also are deployed in many locations around the globe defending American interest, and allowing others to enjoy freedom.

This year Amateur Radio Operators have been asked to open up to the public and provide a service to our communities so that anyone may express thanks and appreciation "live" over the air waves. Amateur Radio is a unique hobby in that we are able to have instant access to the world via radio.

If you know an Amateur Radio Operator ask him or her to join in for this event at a VA Hospital, local Veterans Day Parade, VFW, DAV or American Legion Post and allow the public to salute our Troops, and Veterans.

Our Troops are in need of our support as we are hearing reports that morale may be low.
It would be wonderful if our Troops, and Veterans could wake up on November 11TH and be greeted by our thankful voices worldwide via Ham Radio during the day.

Spread the word, and locate an Amateur Radio Operator near you and set up a location for this to happen. Contact the media, and have them cover the event.

Together we can make this Veterans Day a special one for Troops, Veterans, and their families.

Let's "HAM IT UP FOR THE TROOPS."

No Choice for Silence--Alan Keyes Speech

[I copied this valuable information from http://www.aipnews.com/talk/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=764&posts=3.]

Former UN Representative, African-American, ALAN KEYES had previously heard pro-abortion statements throughout the day of the gathering of the present Republican candidates for President in New Hampshire on February 19, 1995. A passion came over him. He stepped up to the microphone at that banquet and gave the following speech:
"I am actually from the great state of Maryland, where my ancestors have lived for the last 200 years, sometimes as free men and women and sometimes as slaves.

"And I realized as I was listening to the speakers who came before me that I come at an important juncture in this program. Because I think that the great alternatives have been laid before you tonight. And we Republicans are going to have to decide again, as we have had to decide in the past, whether we shall only speak of justice and speak of principle or whether we shall stand and fight for them! Whether we shall quote from the words of the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE with real conviction or whether we shall take that document and throw it on the ash heap of history as we adopt the message of those who say that we can stand silent in the face of injustice!

"When it comes to deciding whether we shall stand by the great principle that declares that all human beings are created equal and endowed by their Creator with the right to life, there is no choice for silence! THERE IS NO CHOICE FOR SILENCE!

"And I can tell you right now, that those who are recommending that we pull the "Pro-Life" plank out of the Republican Party platform are recommending as some people decided in the Whig Party in the years before the Civil War that they would be silent on the great issue of principle that faced this nation, we shall be silent. The Republican Party grew up as a Party aimed at dealing with that moral irresponsibility. At standing on the principle that Lincoln articulated, that 'You can not have the right to do what is wrong.'

"And I'll tell you, we have heard a lot of people tonight. They talk about the money and they talk about the budget. But you and I both know, if we are willing to look ourselves in the eye what the truth is. Why is it that we spend so much money on welfare and illegitimacy? Why is it that we spend so much money on crime and violence in our streets? Why is it even that we spend so much money dealing with the problem of irresponsible behavior that contributes to the decline of the health of this nation? I think you all know in your hearts what the real answer is. We don't have MONEY problems. We have MORAL problems. And it's time we stood up and faced that truth!

"And I don't know how, I don't know how we're going to face that truth. If as what's suggested here today we can look our daughters in the eye and tell them that it is somehow consistent with freedom for them to trample on the human rights of their unborn offspring.

"We're going to have find the courage one of these days to tell people that freedom is not an easy discipline. Freedom is not a choice for those who are lazy in their heart and in their respect for their own moral capacities. Freedom requires that at the end of the day, you accept the constraint that is required, the respect for the laws of nature and nature's God that say unequivocally that your daughters do not have the right to do what is wrong, that our sons do not have the right to do what is wrong. They do not have the right to steal bread from the mouths of the innocent, they do not have the right to steal life from the womb of the unborn.

"And I'll tell you, some people may say, that if we stand up and we speak out and we fight for that principle we'll be dividing the Republican Party. But I don't think so. This Party was born on a clear commitment to principle. This Party was born of those who had the courage to stand before the American people and in the face of the threat of a greater division than we'll ever face, insist that we had to respect the principle that make us great, the principles that make us strong, the principles that make us free.

"Look at what's happening in the streets of our cities, look at what's happening to our families today. Do you think that the decline of marriage and the moral disillusion of the family is a money problem? Or do you think it's a problem that comes from putting the self first from deciding that there are no obligations that have to be respected and that at the end of the day, freedom is just another kind of empty licentiousness? We know better and our Founders knew better and it's time that we get back to the truth. They did not tell us that freedom would be an easy road. They offered us a true vision of the future of America. It was NOT a vision of licentious freedom and stupid self-indulgence. It was a vision of freedom based upon the fear of God and the respect for law.

"And why is it, that out of the mouths of all our statesmen and we hear all these great emotional words but they won't speak the simple truths that our Founders from Washington through Jefferson to Lincoln and every President spoke until we got to our own cowardly times? We are not going to remain a free people if we insist on being a corrupt and licentious people. We are not going to remain a free people if we arrogate to ourselves the right to destroy the rights of others. And that's exactly what we are doing when we embrace the so-called "pro-choice", the truly pro-abortion agenda.

"My friends, I think it's empty to praise the courage of the men and women who have died in the service of this country's freedom and its principles and yet decide that we shall lack the courage to stand up for those principles, many or few, or even alone if we must. Because that is in fact the courage that built America.

"This nation was not as some would have us believe a dream of material progress and prosperity and great cities and mountains of money. I'm glad that we have achieved that prosperity, even though it came at much expense to some of my forebearers. Those who toiled in the depths of slavery, they had an understanding of the real dream of American freedom. It's the dream of moral dignity that comes from respecting our true moral capacity. It's the dream of self-government that comes from respecting the fact that in the end, freedom is not just a choice, it is not just an opportunity. It can be a burden and a sacrifice and an obligation. And above all, it is the obligation to respect the truth of our moral identity. That moral identity can unite us across every line of race and color and creed so long as we have the courage to stand for it.

"Now I think you know by now, looking at the Clinton Administration, that if we as Republicans abandon that line of principle, it will surely be abandoned in America. But I can also tell you this in warning, that if you abandon that line of principle, there are Americans who will fight few or many, alone if we must, to make sure that it prevails. And in every point in our history, when we had the choice between right and wrong, in the end, this country chose what was right. And we can be grateful for it. And I think we shall do so again, because we know that the real heroes in America are those in their families and in their daily lives respect the truth that we must meet the obligations and sacrifices of freedom before we claim its privileges and benefits.

"And if that means as well that 'come what may.' Even if it means that we must sacrifice in our personal lives we have to stand where our Founders stood on the belief that you cannot have the right to do what is wrong, but that if we build self-government on a true adherence to the principles of justice, then we shall hold up a beacon of right and hope for all of human kind to understand the true destiny of mankind. Thank-you."
*******
My favorite part of the speech was when Alan Keyes said,
" ... But I can also tell you this in warning, that if you
abandon that line of principle, there are
Americans who will fight
few or many, alone if we must, to
make sure that it
prevails. And in every point in our
history, when we had the
choice between
right and wrong, in the end, this country
chose what was
right. And we can be grateful for it ... "

Who Can You Trust?
But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all Your works.

Television reality shows that feature a group of contestants make trust a central focus.  Not surprisingly, the contestants often betray one another's trust as they joust for advantage and position leading to the show's finale.  Such a me-first mentality is reflective of values often found in the world. Becoming transparent and honest with others is a risk that relationships require.
Fortunately, there is someone whose word is eminently trustworthy: God Himself. Scripture is filled with proof that God keeps His word. Indeed, trust is at the very heart of God's covenant love—first for Israel and then for the church. The Hebrew word in the Old Testament usually translated "lovingkindness" literally means "loyal love"—the kind of love that never ends. Through the prophet Jeremiah, God said that as long as the universe—the order of the stars and planets—remains in place, His promises to Israel would not fail (Jeremiah 31:35-37). There is nothing you can say or reveal to God that would cause His love for you to fail.
If you have trusted God with your eternal life, shouldn't you trust Him with the details of your earthly life as well?

Let us learn to trust Him for who He is.

Failing to Success

I got a hug from God today...it was tucked away in the verses of Psalm 37 quoted below. Picture yourself crawling up into God's lap so that He can read to you and give you a BIG hug. I receive Dr. David Jeremiah's email devotionals every day. Sometimes I get a hug...sometimes I don't, lol.

Wishing you all of Christ's best in your life. ~Mary Ann Hartzler

Failing to Success
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholds him with His hand.
Psalm 37:23-24

Psalm 40:2-3

The literal definition of the word "failure" is: a lack of success in or at something. In reality though, you cannot achieve success in anything without failures along the way. No one is born with the ability to do anything successfully on the first attempt. Babies fall when learning to walk; pianists hit sour notes when trying to master a composition; athletes come in second and third while building up what it takes to place first. But there is a common thread among them all: they never let fear of failure stop them from striving for success.

A lot of us have a fear of failure; but if we desire to be used by God to further His kingdom and bring glory to His name, we must ask Him to help us overcome this. Imagine the amazing things we could do in God's name if we never let fear hold us back! We might stumble along the way; but in the end, God's name would be glorified, and we would set an example for those around us that it's okay to try big things for God, even if we fail along the way to success.

Success comes in cans; failure comes in can'ts.

The Label Promises Remedies, But The Box Contains Poison

Dr. Alan Keyes
Friday, September 18, 2009

As conservative voters approach the 2010 elections, they might consider heeding the wisdom of this simple slogan: Don't Trust The Party Label. In particular, the Republican Party label is being abused as part of a conscious effort to deceive them.

Consider as evidence yesterday's report by Josh Kraushaar at politico.com. Under the direction of Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), the GOP's National Senatorial Committee is backing a slew of left-leaning candidates for the 2010 primaries. The plan is to give them special advantages in the primaries, while bad mouthing the prospects of conservative candidates.

The best, and perhaps most controversial, example of the NRSC's muscle-flexing is in Florida, where Cornyn quickly got behind the campaign of popular moderate [sic] Gov. Charlie Crist, despite growing conservative resentment over Crist's support of [alleged] President Barack Obama's stimulus plan and environmental policies.

The NRSC's open support for the governor has stifled the fundraising ability of former state House Speaker Marco Rubio, an attractive candidate in his own right who has been winning the support of conservative activists across the state.

"The speed with which the national party and national Republicans took sides in this race has presented challenges," said Rubio spokesman Alex Burgos. "Speaker Rubio never envisioned a day that a conservative in the Republican primary would be the underdog―and wouldn't be given a chance by the national party.

Conservatives considering Rush Limbaugh's contention that there's no hope outside the GOP need to ponder deeply the significance of this fact: the GOP leaders won't give a conservative a chance. Their excuse for stacking the deck against conservatives is that they are backing "electable" candidates. But they consistently define "electable" as "moderate" or "not conservative." According to the politico.com piece this logic "makes perfect sense to GOP strategists, who view it as a necessary exercise in political Darwinism.

"The job of the party committee is to help people with an 'R' next to their name; it doesn't matter what their ideology is," said Carl Forti, who headed the National Republican Congressional Committee's independent expenditure efforts in 2006 [with such good results]." "That's the mentality Cornyn has now―you want to find people that can win, and if you cater to much to the extremes, you'll be in trouble."

In fact Cornyn's intervention in primaries isn't about helping people with an 'R' next to their name. It's about making sure that in the general election those people aren't conservatives. As for the claim of electability, the notion that conservatives won't win is a purposely self-fulfilling prophecy.

The conservative heart of Americans everywhere is being roused by Obama's push to overthrow Constitutional government and install a national socialist regime in its place. But this is simply an accentuation of a longstanding reality. Consider the Battleground polling data reported by Bruce Walker in this article at americanthinker.com.

The Battleground Poll is different. It is bipartisan. A Republican polling organization, the Terrance Group, and a Democrat polling organization, Lake Research Partners, collaborate in picking the questions, selecting the sample population, conducting the surveys, and analyzing the results. The Battleground Poll website, along with the raw data, is "Republican Strategic Analysis" and "Democratic Strategic Analysis." There are few polls that are bipartisan. No other polling organization asks the same questions year after year, none that reveal the internals of their poll results so completely, and none ask anything like Question D3 in every survey. What is Question D3 and what were the results to Question D3 in the August 20, 2008 Battleground Poll? It is this:

"When thinking about politics and government, do you consider yourself to be...?

Very conservative
Somewhat conservative
MODERATE
Somewhat liberal
Very liberal
UNSURE/REFUSED"

In August 2008, Americans answered that question this way: (1) 20% of Americans considered themselves to be very conservative; (2) 40% of Americans considered themselves to be somewhat conservative; (3) 2% of Americans considered themselves to be moderate; (4) 27% of Americans considered themselves to be somewhat liberal; (5) 9% of Americans considered themselves to be very liberal; and (6) 3% of Americans did not know or refused to answer.

Sixty percent of Americans considered themselves conservative. Does this mean that most Americans do not know what "conservative" means? No: The question specifically provides an out to people who are not sure about their ideology; it provides an out to people who want to be considered "moderate." Americans reject those choices. They overwhelmingly define themselves as "conservative." This is a huge political story - except that it is not "new" at all. Look at the thirteen Battleground Poll results over the last six years, and how do Americans answer that very question? Here are the percentages of Americans in those polls who call themselves "conservative" since June 2002: 59% (June 2002 poll), 59% (September 2003 poll), 61% (April 2004 poll), 59% (June 2004 poll), 60% (September 2004 poll), 61% (October 2005 poll), 59% (March 2006), 61% (October 2006), 59% (January 2007), 63% (July 2007), 58% (December 2007), 63% (May 2008), and now 60% (August 2008.)

The percentage of Americans who define themselves as "somewhat liberal" or "very liberal" has always been puny. In thirteen straight polls, this percentage has never been higher than 38% (June 2004) and it has usually been much lower. The gap between self-defined conservatives and self-defined liberals has been as high as thirty percentage points and as low as twenty-one percentage points. What does that translate into in electoral politics? If conservative presidential candidates simply got all the conservative votes - if virtually all moderate voters, uncommitted voters, and liberal voters went for the liberal candidate - then the conservative candidates would win a landslide bigger than Ronald Reagan in 1988. Have you ever wondered why liberals like Obama never call themselves liberals? Maybe their advisers have read the Battleground Poll internals.

Are these remarkable results skewed? This has always been the argument, but it is a hopelessly flawed argument. The poll results are incredibly consistent over time. These results are the same when President Bush has poll numbers at rock bottom and when Republicans were facing electoral disaster, like in October 2006 when 61% of Americans called themselves conservatives. The very consistency of these percentages is powerful evidence of their inherent validity....

Voters heavily identify themselves as conservative. Only a miniscule percentage of them identify themselves as "moderates." Yet in primary elections the GOP leaders now stack the deck in favor of so-called "moderates." This isn't a hard-boiled preference for winners. It's an ideological preference for left-leaning candidates. Once the leftists win the GOP nomination, the leftist GOP leaders exploit the conservative cachet of the Republican label (carefully bolstered and preserved by media Judas goats) in a conscious effort to deceive conservative voters into supporting people who will surely betray them. In effect, the GOP leaders do exactly what the leftist Democrats do. They hide or lie about their candidates' left-leaning views in order to hijack the seats of power. And they've been doing so at least since Ronald Reagan left office. If a conservative chances to get a GOP nomination, the same GOP forces usually go to work behind the scenes to insure the nominee's defeat in the general election. Their claptrap about uniting to defeat the leftist Democrat bogeyman only matters to them when there's another leftist bogeyman behind the Republican mask. Though they pretend to be all about winning without regard to ideology, they are in fact committed to the leftist ideology and working to assure the victory of national socialism. They therefore don't disagree with Obama's leftist goal. They disagree with his up front and hasty pursuit of it.

I have to hope that people like Rush Limbaugh are not consciously part of this national GOP strategy of deception. The currently roused conservative heart of America could lead to a restoration of the Constitutional Republic. This could usher in an era of revitalized strength and renewed dedication to the principles and practices of liberty. Or it will again be hijacked by a conscious strategy intended to assure that Americans who love liberty and the constitutional sovereignty of the people are once more deceived and betrayed. Given that the leftist elite faction thinks it has already pushed America irretrievably over the cliff into national socialism, this time may be the last time. Conservative voters beware. The byword of the day is clear:

DON'T TRUST THE PARTY LABEL

Conservatives Should Make 2010 the ‘Passover’ Election

[One of my absolute favorite conservative thinkers is Alan Keyes. I think his thoughts are cogent and timely.]

http://loyaltoliberty.blogspot.com/
by Dr. Alan Keyes
September 16, 2009

I hear that Rush Limbaugh is telling people that they have no choice but to drink the Republican Kool-Aid in the 2010 elections. Given the track record of the forces still in control of the Republican Party, this is tantamount to saying that we let the American republic go gently into the dark night of National Socialism. It also implies surrendering the sovereignty of the American people on the altar of the economics-without-borders money powers whose machinations terrorized the nation into the arms of the Obama faction in the fall of 2008 (with a telling, indispensable assist from G. W. Bush.)

Now Obama's socialist putsch is rousing the conservative instincts of the American people. The Bush-Michael Steele Republicans see it as their job to exploit this reaction for political purposes, but without letting power fall into the hands of any true conservatives. It's a delicate maneuver, in which media Judas goats have an indispensable role. (Wikipedia has an excellent definition of Judas goat that's worth reading at this point. In essence, "The Judas goat is trained to associate with sheep or cattle, leading them to a specific destination. In stockyards the Judas goat will lead sheep to slaughter, while its own life is spared.")

Predictably, Rush Limbaugh (like the media personalities at the supposedly conservative Fox news network) is going about the work of herding angry grassroots Americans into the Republican sheep-pens, where they will be shorn of their character and liberty more slowly, but just as surely, as at the hands of the Obama faction. To accept his analysis, however, requires that we forget that G. W. Bush's surrender to socialism in 2008 was the culmination of years of missed opportunities and betrayals by Republicans to whom well intentioned conservative voters delivered control of the White House or the Congress (or both) from 1994 to 2006.

I know that some of these well intentioned conservative voters want desperately to believe that it was the bad old media or the wily bad Democrats who not only kept the Republican leaders from making good use of those years, but forced them to preside over the biggest spending spree in the nation's history up to that time. The Bush Republicans threw fiscal conservatism to the winds and paid no more than incompetent lip-serve to the agenda of restoring the nation's moral principles. Meanwhile, in the critical areas of education and national sovereignty they betrayed bedrock conservative principles by promoting the national government's liberty destroying control of our schools and colluding in the sovereignty destroying neglect of its Constitutional responsibility to secure our national borders.

Is the charitable view of the Republican leadership's sins justified? It might be, if we could believe that the violation and neglect of conservative ideas and principles was unintentional. Knowledgeable people have a hard time doing this, however, since they know that the Bush wing of the GOP has a long and consistent history of opposition to conservatism. In light of that history the failure to respect conservative ideas and principles during the years of Bush ascendancy looks suspiciously like reversion to type.

I was reminded of this today as I read this piece by Byron York on the washingtonexaminer.com website. York reports about "a revealing moment in a new book, scheduled for release next week, by former White House speechwriter Matt Latimer."

Bush was preparing to give a speech to the annual meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference or CPAC. The conference is the event of the year for conservative activists; Republican politicians are required to appear and offer their praise of the conservative movement.

Latimer got the assignment to write Bush's speech. Draft in hand, he and a few other writers met with the president in the Oval Office. Bush was decidedly unenthusiastic.

"What is this movement you keep talking about in the speech?" the president asked Latimer.

Latimer explained that he meant the conservative movement -- the movement that gave rise to groups like CPAC.

Bush seemed perplexed. Latimer elaborated a bit more. Then Bush leaned forward, with a point to make.

"Let me tell you something," the president said. "I whupped Gary Bauer's ass in 2000. So take out all this movement stuff. There is no movement."

Bush seemed to equate the conservative movement -- the astonishing growth of conservative political strength that took place in the decades after Barry Goldwater's disastrous defeat in 1964 -- with the fortunes of Bauer, the evangelical Christian activist and former head of the Family Research Council whose 2000 presidential campaign went nowhere.

Now it was Latimer who looked perplexed. Bush tried to explain.

"Look, I know this probably sounds arrogant to say," the president said, "but I redefined the Republican Party."

This suggests that G. W. Bush prided himself on the fact that the Bush ascendancy in the Republican Party eliminated the conservative movement as a viable force in American politics. Now, with so many Americans boisterously asserting their belief in conservative ideas and principles, the apologists for the Republican Party would surely prefer that this intended aspect of the Bush legacy be locked out of sight for safekeeping. "We're your only hope against Obama," they proclaim. "Give us the power." In true Machiavellian fashion they won't say to conservative Americans "Give us the power; we want to continue destroying you." They just say "give us the power."

Through fear of Obama some conservatives will follow the Judas goat media leaders into the political slaughter pens one more time. Like the panic of a drowning victim, their fear actually makes them fight against those who try to offer them real aid. It blinds them to the fact that the Republicans now promising deliverance set conservatives up for failure in the first place. They don't really oppose Obama's goal. They just think he's moving toward it too hastily.

Keeping all this in mind, I must disagree with Rush Limbaugh. I see a desperate need for a third alternative for America. Whether you call it a party or not is immaterial. My advice is to put no faith in the Republican Party label, the Republican Party leaders, or the Republican Party candidates. That doesn't mean voting against all Republicans. It just means voting for no one just because of the Republican label. Right now, if the label says anything to conservatives, it reeks of duplicity and betrayal. The election of 2010 should be like the Passover recounted in the Bible. Only the politicians bearing the mark of true conservatism should be passed over by the conservative angel of political judgment.

But what will signify, like the lamb's blood that marked the dwellings of the Israelites, the presence of a commitment to conservative ideas, principles and policies? For my part, I look for a proven dedication to the principles on which the United States of America was founded, starting with the self-evident truth that we are all endowed with unalienable rights by the will of the Creator God. Every element of real conservatism can be deduced and articulated as a logical consequence of that truth. So by looking for the people determined to conserve American liberty I will find the only conservatives worthy of the name. What about you?

America is Breaking God's Heart--and Destroying Itself--but There is a Way Back!

Special to AIPNews.com

September 16, 2009

by Georgette Smelich

Through many generations God’s loving Hand has greatly blessed the United States of America. We are a Christian nation that was founded upon reliance on God and His principles.

He has graciously provided all of our needs, from an abundance of food on our tables, the clothes that we wear, to the warm shelter within our homes. The Lord has protected us, for we are His people. He has remained faithful and merciful, gently caring for us as a shepherd tends to his flock.

In difficult times God is our solid Rock. He is our Shield that fiercely protects us from our enemies as He offers those He loves a safe and secure place of refuge.

The United States of America was once a prosperous nation that overflowed with milk and honey. Our thriving economy actually manufactured quality products that were labeled “Made in the U.S.A.” God blessed us with the strongest military power in the world, as our allies depended on us for their security and defense.

But, somewhere along the way, we became a rebellious people. Like the children of Israel we decided to take the credit for ourselves, failing to acknowledge that these wonderful gifts came from Almighty God, the One who created heaven and earth. Instead of thanking our loving Father with praise we began to eliminate Him from our lives.

He has been removed from the schools and America’s children are no longer allowed to pray. Sadly, in some places we are not even allowed to openly worship the baby Jesus at Christmas time except in our homes. Some churches are not upholding godly principles, straying away from God’s Word, supporting detestable acts in God’s eyes such as abortion and homosexuality. Traditional marriage between a man and a woman is being altered as now homosexual couples are allowed to marry each other.

God’s children are being raised in dysfunctional homes without a clear concept of the true American family, which includes a father and a mother.

The influx of illegal immigrants across our borders is creating havoc, as they take our jobs and destroy the rule of law, making a mockery of the fundamental principles of this great nation.

As Christians we know deep in our hearts that God surely must be weeping with a broken heart for His people and how we have defiantly disobeyed him. It can only be a matter of time before God’s enduring patience with us begins to subside. In fact, we are already witnessing the erosion of our God-given freedoms.

The United States of America was once a prosperous nation. Now our economy is disintegrating right before our eyes, forcing people into poverty, as millions of Americans lose their jobs to overseas competition, and their homes to foreclosure.

Families are now finding themselves to be dependent on the government for their entire welfare.

Our only hope for the survival of this great nation is in God. We must repent of our sins, and turn back to Him before it is too late!

The Lord speaks to us very clearly in 2 Chronicles, chapter 7:14:

"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

If we seek the Lord with all of our heart and soul, humbling ourselves, He will hear our prayers. And then, like all the generations that went before, our posterity will be able to enjoy the wonderful blessings of His Almighty Hand.

And so, until the hour of Jesus’ glorious return, let us do the work He has given us in helping to turn our fellow Americans back to Him. If we will simply be faithful in that, what a victorious Day that will be!

In the aftermath of the September 12 Tea Party March on Washington, Rush Limbaugh ended his radio show attempting to make the case that America should not attempt to start a third party. I guess if you could not envision a different way to do politics then this would be sound advice.

However, some citizens see a way ahead where national party leadership is replaced by local citizen leadership -- one in which National and State organizations exists for serving local caucuses functioning in neighborhoods across the land, rather than the other way around.

Limbaugh's argument that there is a difference between the Republican and Democrat party sounds hollow given the two candidates offered in the last election. It sounds hollow given that the last Republican President abandoned the free market system (allegedly to save it). It sounds hollow given the actions taken by the Republican party when they had control of the government. Well, actions speak loader than words, and this American is taking action.

Recently a Republican leader in Maryland attempted to make the same argument. She suggested I should contact her later, that she would fix the problem with the Republican party. THEY STILL AREN'T GETTING IT. We the people are taking our rightful place in our constitutional self-government. Any party who fields a principled leader worthy of the name will be supported, but we the people will decide, not a broken political party machine. I for one care not about parties, only principles. And I am not going to compromise my principles, which is why I have affiliated with the Maryland Independent Party, and nationally with America's Independent Party.

I say declare your independence from the two-party system, and sign the Declaration of Independence from the Two-Party System....then participate in America's Caucus Training Institute, which are regularly-scheduled, one-hour training sessions, five days per week, Tuesday through Saturdays, at 11:00 am Eastern time.  -- All are welcome.

Saving America in Five Simple, Straightforward Steps

[Taking advantage of another stellar essay from the blogosphere.]

The Life and Liberty Report

By Tom Hoefling

September 12, 2009

1. Get your own heart and life right with God.

2. Fix America’s first principles of God-given, unalienable rights and their protection for ALL persons, born or as yet unborn, as spelled out in our Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, firmly in your mind. (Join yourself to “We the People”!)

3. Make a personal determination not to compromise in any way with any words, policies, or actions that serve to alienate God-given rights or which abrogate the clear provisions of the Constitution, to give any support to any candidate for public office who violates America’s first principles, or to let any outside party, factional, media, or money influences to in any way affect your political decisions, words, or actions.

4. Make a determination to by every means available find and politically associate yourself with other like-minded American patriots in your town or city, in your county, in your congressional district, in your state, and in America.

5. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance. True American citizenship is a life-long vocation. No matter how long it takes, or how hard the task might be, make a determination to take all practical steps to restore every part of the government of our American Republic, at every level, to America’s principles, AND THEN, TOGETHER, DO IT!
By the way, I didn’t say they were “easy” steps. I said they were “simple and straightforward,” which they are.

Along with my entire family and all my friends, I have made a commitment to follow this path, no matter the cost. We believe that the only hope for our country is that millions of our fellow citizens do the same. We also believe that unless a sufficient number of our fellow citizens take these steps that our precious Republic WILL fail, for which our posterity, should there be one, will rightfully curse our generation and our names.

One last point: I do not believe that these steps are optional. I believe them to be the only possible way to save our country. I also believe that any individual who fails in any single point is part of the problem, not part of the saving of this great nation.
